- Start by calculating the center of the room. Install tiles from the center working out towards the walls, using a rubber mallet or engineering hammer to connect the tiles.
- The tiles can be easily cut with a sharp utility knife, or jigsaw. For best results especially in large installations the use of a band-saw is recommended.
- Once all the full tiles have been installed then proceed with the trimmed tiles. A space of 1/4” (6mm) expansion gap should be left at the walls and any other obstacles such as pillars and extremely heavy equipment.
- If required the expansion gap can be filled with a flexible caulk and/or covered with PVC base cove.
- In most applicaations no gluing is required. The only situations that gluing is recommended are:
- When the tiles will be exposed to direct sunlight.
- Where there are extremely heavy traffic maneuvers combined with tight turning.
- Floor is exposed to high temperatures.
- Tiles are installed in cold temperatures
- When gluing is required for best results we recommend the use of TILEBOND 55™ (see product information)
